She wants you to step up your outerwear game.

You won’t see Anna Wintour in this type of jacket anytime soon. During her video assessment of fashion trends at the close of Milan Fashion Week, which was posted to Vogue‘s YouTube channel on Tuesday, she declared one type of outerwear a snooze.
“There’s so much product out there right now,” Anna mused. “What we need is fashion that’s going to seem very emotional and make us dream — not just one more boring beige leather jacket.” Guessing she’s much more into the crazy-colored fur coat trend, then?

One designer who seems to be standing out of the “boring beige” category is Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci. According to her, he’s “always pushing the boundaries, trying to show us something different, and trying to inspire us.”
Anna then went on to address the idea that girls today are “turned off by fashion by those who do insist on showing it on one kind of girl. It’s not who they see, it’s not who they want to be.” During that segment, she praised the Dolce & Gabbana show for its inclusivity, because it featured a more diverse array of sizes.
Cool, cool. Just wondering, Anna, what did you think of Moschino’s toilet roll purse, though?
